CSA/Garden and Menu: Week of OCTOBER 2

How did it get to be October?? We're in a wonderful part of the Southeast where it is definitely feeling like fall (at least temporarily), but there is still lots garden produce--and will be through the month. Here's our "take" this week:

CSA:
  • quart of small plum tomatoes
  • 1 good-sized head of cabbage
  • 4 small heads of broccoli (yum!)
  • small bag of basil
  • 4 hot peppers
  • 3 beautiful bell peppers
  • 1 bag of white potatoes (maybe a pound?)
  • 1 bag of big summer squash (8-ball, regular zucchini, and yellow)
Garden:
  • lots of small orange slicing tomatoes
  • lots of red cherry tomatoes
  • small green bell pepper
  • LOTS of banana peppers (and I mean LOTS)
  • LOTS and LOTS of basil (I thought it would get too cold this weekend, so I harvested it all... and there is LOTS and LOTS and LOTS.... time for some serious pesto making)
Menu:
