CSA + Garden Haul Week 8 (7/12/12)

My garden is practically assaulting us with cherry tomatoes! I picked 25 or so today (on top of the same amount yesterday and the day before and... and a future of similar proportions). The rain we so desperately needed has gently arrived this week (some storms, but lots of nice, slow rain as well). The cherry tomatoes in the picture are from our garden; the rest of the produce is our CSA share this week.

CSA:
  • 1 pound or so of slicing onions
  • 1 1/2 pounds or so of new potatoes
  • 1 mini watermelon (SO cute ☺)
  • 4 tomatillos (Caleb threw in a couple of extra since I was raving about our recent tomatillo salsa to some other customers...)
  • a beautiful bag of red and yellow tomatoes
  • 2 green onions
  • 1 bag of kale (I think--haven't peeked inside and forgot to ask)
Leftover:
  • Believe it or not, we STILL have some summer squash to eat up!! (those fridgesmarts are AMAZING)
  • and a last bit of napa cabbage
  • and a cucumber
  • and a ton of peaches (I just couldn't help it... ☺)
  • and some lettuce from the store (now that it's BLT season, after all...)
Possibilities:
  • BLT's
  • assorted cherry tomato salads
  • summer stew (squash, beans--now in freezer, onions, tomatoes, etc.)
  • sauteed greens
  • something Mexican in order to justify salsa gluttony
