CSA/Garden/Menu for August 21st

We'll be out of town this week from Wednesday evening on....so our menu is scanty. Thankfully, the produce we received from our CSA this Saturday is conducive to storage :-).

CSA:

• Bag of summer squash (1 8-ball zucchini, 1 pattypan, and 1 yellow)
• 2 small red bell peppers
• bag potatoes (plus some extra seconds!)
• bag small slicing onions
• 2 small spaghetti squash
• bunch basil
• 3 beautiful slicing tomatoes

Farmer's Mkt purchase: (we pick up our CSA share at the local farmer's mkt)
Baker's Dozen ears of Silver Queen corn!!

Our garden?
hmmm.... odd tomato here and there; banana pepper here and there... maybe I should water? :-)

Meal Options:
Chicken sausages, sauteed onions, fried corn, crudite
Stir-fry (using up cabbage, bell peppers, etc.)
Pasta (using pesto and summer squash of course!)

Lunches this week:
8ball zucchini pizzas again!
BLT's!! (Mmmm....my new discovery this summer)
