Chocolate Chip Pancakes

These are a fun treat and don't really need any syrup.

Recipe based on Fannie Farmer, 13th edition "whole wheat griddlecakes"

1/3 c. whole wheat flour
2/3 c. white flour
2 T. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 egg, beaten
2 T. melted butter or oil
1/2-3/4 c. milk
couple of handfuls of chocolate chips

Combine dry ingredients. Combine wet ingredients (begin with smaller amount of milk). Combine dry and wet ingredients, mixing just until combined (it's okay if there are still some lumps). Add chocolate chips and mix just until combined. If you want these extra fluffy, then let the batter sit for 10-30 minutes before cooking on a hot griddle.

Mmmmm

Makes 12-14 4-inch pancakes
